Privacy and your information.
What we collect
Newsletter signups collect your email address, confirmation status, and optional Open Case interests. Contact forms send the details you enter to the site contact address. Research submissions collect the names and information supplied, supporting source references, contributor contact details, acknowledgment preferences, and consent selections. Research submissions are held in private WordPress records and emailed as administrative notifications.
How information is used
We use this information to answer messages, review research, verify sources and send newsletters only when separately requested and confirmed. Research submissions are not published automatically. Contributor names are displayed only after the contributor affirmatively chooses named credit, the finding has passed editorial verification, and an editor separately approves a public-safe summary. Recognition may appear on a case page or in a Discovery Dispatch. Editorial notes, email addresses, and unapproved sources remain private.
Storage and choices
Information is held through this website and its hosting services as needed to operate these functions and review submissions. To request access, correction, or deletion of your information, contact us through the contact page. Newsletter recipients may unsubscribe through newsletter correspondence when email delivery is configured, or request removal through our contact form at any time. Case-follow requests require email confirmation.
External services
WordPress and hosting services may use functional cookies. External links, web fonts, and historical images hosted by third parties may involve requests to those providers, which have their own policies.
